We are proud to share the launch of the Basic Construction Training Program in Wimauma, Florida, a hands-on workforce training opportunity designed for individuals interested in starting a career in the construction industry.
This community-based training program is offered in partnership with the CDC of Tampa: Corporation to Develop Communities of Tampa and Tampa Vocational Institute, strengthening access to job-ready skills for residents in South Hillsborough County.
Workforce Training for Construction Jobs in Wimauma
The Basic Construction Training program is designed to prepare participants for entry-level construction jobs by combining practical instruction with essential workplace skills. This program supports individuals seeking employment in construction, trades, and related fields throughout the Tampa Bay region.
What Participants Will Learn
Through this construction job training program, participants will gain foundational skills including:
Basic job-site preparation and safety awareness
Tool identification and proper usage
Framing structures, drywall installation, and basic carpentry
Introduction to electrical and plumbing concepts
Teamwork, communication, and professional workplace habits
These skills are aligned with the needs of local employers and help participants build confidence for real-world construction environments.
