Thank you, Profe Christi: Celebrating years of partnership, dedication, and learning at Enterprising Latinas

The path toward economic and professional development for our community is not walked alone. It is built through solid partnerships and, above all, thanks to individuals committed to opening doors through education. Today, at Enterprising Latinas, we want to take a moment to honor and bid farewell to a fundamental piece of our language programs: Christi Stilley.

On the occasion of her retirement, we celebrate her career as the Lead ESOL Teacher at Lennard Adult School / Hillsborough County Public Schools, and we express our deepest gratitude for the years she dedicated to teaching English classes for our community.

A Partnership with Real Community Impact

It is important to highlight that Professor Christi’s impact on our organization is the result of a valuable institutional collaboration. As an employee of the Hillsborough County Public Schools, she bridged the gap between the ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) program and Enterprising Latinas.

Thanks to this synergy, dozens of individuals in Wimauma and surrounding areas found a safe, professional, and accessible space to master the English language; a key tool for:

• Local Businesses: Improving communication with clients and vendors.

• Career Growth: Accessing better job opportunities and positions.

• Community Leadership: Gaining the confidence to actively participate in their environment.

A Farewell Retreat to Celebrate Her Legacy

To thank her for her dedication and wish her the best in this new chapter of retirement, we organized a special farewell retreat. It was a space dedicated to sharing stories, hugs, and expressions of gratitude from the Enterprising Latinas team and the students whose lives she transformed with patience and academic excellence.

The Power of Education in Community

Learning a second language as an adult and an entrepreneur requires courage. Professor Christi met this effort from day one, turning every English class into a driver of economic empowerment and personal confidence for our community members.
