At Enterprising Latinas, we know that summer in Florida brings countless opportunities: to work outdoors, to connect with family, and to thrive in our communities. But with those sunny days comes something else—intense UV exposure that can affect your health in ways you may not see right away.
That’s why during UV Safety Month, we’re reminding you to protect what matters most: your health, your skin, your eyes, and your future.

Why does UV safety matter?
Too much exposure to ultraviolet (UV) rays from the sun can lead to:
Sunburns
Premature aging
Eye damage
Increased risk of skin cancer
These effects build up over time—even on cloudy days—so prevention today is protection for tomorrow.
4 simple ways to stay safe under the sun:
☀️ Use sunscreen daily, even when it’s cloudy. Choose SPF 30 or higher.
🧢 Cover your skin with lightweight, long-sleeved clothing and a wide-brimmed hat.
😎 Protect your eyes with sunglasses that block UVA and UVB rays.
💧 Stay hydrated, especially when working or spending time outside.
Remember: The sun is powerful, but you are too!
You deserve to feel good, stay healthy, and have access to the knowledge and tools to care for yourself. Share this message with your loved ones and remind them: sun safety is self-care.
At Enterprising Latinas, we’ll keep working to promote education, prevention, and holistic wellness in our communities.
💛 Stay safe this UV Safety Month—your future self will thank you.
